Baxter Initiates Clinical Study With Cell-Based Candidate H5N1 Pandemic Vaccine |

Baxter InternationalInc. (NYSE: BAX) today announced that it has initiated a Phase I/IIclinical trial to test the company's vero-cell based candidate H5N1pandemic influenza vaccine. The study is being conducted with severalhundred healthy adults in Austria and Singapore using the fully inactivatedwild-type H5N1 strain A/Vietnam/1203/2004. Four different antigenconcentrations ranging from 3.75mcg to 30mcg are being tested informulations with and without alum as adjuvant. [click link for full article]
